English 4: (If you weren’t here: Read to the break on page 125 in The Importance of Being Earnest.) The main characters in Earnest, Jack and Algernon, have each invented a friend (”Ernest” and “Bunbury”) who provides an excuse to get away from their responsibilities. Algernon uses the word “Bunburying” to describe the use of a false excuse to get out of something.  Write a paragraph about a time that you “Bunburyed,” or about a “Bunburyist” you know.
